Use this section to tell about yourself.: In three weeks, I will have been a licensed real estate salesperson four years. Five years ago, we moved to Kailua Kona (HI) from Spokane (WA), where I had a piano studio in our home (BA, Music). For 15 years prior to that, I assisted administrations primarily in engineering and architecture in Rochester (NY), NYC, San Francisco and Seattle. Tasks varied from automating accounts payable system in NYC ('85) to database design and management for an archaeological dig off the Duwamish Head in Seattle ('90). Our kids are 13 and 16.9; spouse (BA, MA; Contractor 30+ years) has been underemployed as general contractor (most of the "generals" we've known since moving here have gone). I was licensed less than a year when sales of Kona Coast property inventory stalled. Believe this was initially due to the VOG (volcanic emissions). Then we lost Aloha Airlines and the economy began constricting. For almost two years, inventory just grew...
At this point in time, sales have been closing mainly with lower priced homes. I would like to take some listings and try to get a steady stream of income; in any case, do something to obtain a steady income stream...
I have had two REO co-listings and presently have another two.
This year, I've invested way too much time in prequalified Buyers who want tons of information and then do not perform. I try to get the best deals for these people and then for a variety of reasons, they vanish.
I have a lead on an oceanfront listing and feel unable to make the necessary phone contact. If my website functioned better; if this, if that (we have very little money)... It's that, "Why would anybody want to join a club that I belonged to?" syndrome.
It might help to have contact with real estate pros outside of my highly competitive market area. Perhaps some hutzpa and organizational/marching skills can be gleaned?
